The Cover: The cover screams suspense and mystery, to be honest. The blue, water-like background with the two hands placed on both sides, and the unique fonts used to give life to this book’s cover is good. I like it. It could be better, though. (3.5 out of 5 stars)
The Story: I have to say, this book is unlike any other. I have never imagined for a love story be well incorporated into a suspense and mystery book. I actually once believed that when combined, these three genres would never work. Well now, the heavens know how wrong I was.
Every page had me on the edge of my seat. The story actually started off, already, as a mystery, when Charlie, the female protagonist, was at school, without a clue as to who she was, where she was, and what the hell was going on. And the same goes for Silas, our loving male protagonist. When you encounter a mystery on the very first page of a mystery/romance book, you just know that it will turn your whole world upside down, until you get to the part where the mystery gets resolved.
Charlie & Silas’ memory loss made them such unreliable narrators, and I still have mixed feelings about this. I don’t know if I should be happy about or confused as heck. Their being confused the whole damn time was great because that just means that there is room for improvements. But when you tell a story from a confused character’s perspective, you, as a reader, tend to get confused as well. It’s a good thing that I felt Silas’ character development. But for now, I am still undecided as for this aspect.
The story was great! It was unique, and as I’ve said, it’s a great attempt in playing and mixing with the genres and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. (3.5 out of 5 stars)
(I seem calm, right? Just you wait. Rants are coming in 3…2….1…)
The Ending: WELL I DO NOT KNOW HOW I COULD TACKLE THIS WITHOUT MENTIONING SPOILERS!!! There’s a cliffhanger. A huge one at that. Right as the last page ended, as the last word was said… Oh god, I hate cliffhangers. It’s not personal, by the way. It’s just that the agony in waiting for the next installment is real. It’s absolutely real. Good thing I am already in possession of the second book. I just wonder how I’m going to react after I read it because the third book is still scheduled to get released on January 2016.
For now, all I can say is that Colleen and Tarryn obviously had fun writing this book that they completely disregarded the massive cliffhanger towards the ending. But the last few pages from the last chapter were very gripping. The mystery unfolded partially and it’s a good thing that at least a little bit was revealed before the book came to a complete close.
For now, I’m just going to leave it at that. I don’t want to mention spoilers, and so, just go and read it. It’s amazing, honestly! (5 out of 5 stars)
The Verdict: I loved this book. It’s a break from what I usually read, which are YA Romance and Fantasy books, and it’s part of what made me like this one. Now, let me devour Never Never Part 2. I’ll be right back! (4 out of 5 stars)

“Before, when I looked at her, she was just the girl who as experiencing this weird phenomenon with me. Now when I look at her, she’s the girl I’ve apparently made love to for a while. The girl I apparently still love. I just wish I could remember what it’s supposed to feel like.” – Silas Nash
